What is an Advocacy Center?
A Children's Advocacy Center is a child-friendly facility that provides a nurturing, supportive environment for child victims of abuse and their families. Its mission is to minimize any additional trauma to the child by coordinating a variety of essential services at one location to meet their needs. This is achieved through the collaborative efforts of various professionals who intervene when a child discloses abuse. The ultimate goal is to promote justice and healing.
